Why Watch Zombadings: Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington Today

Today, August 31, 2011 is the National Zomba Day. Independent films are taken new heights as Origin8 Production presents "Zombadings: Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington."

What is the movie about? The story is about Remington, played by Martin Escudero who bullies gays as a hobby. Because of this, a grieving homosexual, played by Roderick Paulate, cursed him that he will turn gay when he grows up. And it came true 15 years after just in time when he is about to court a girl. He is haunted by a dreadful macho, changed appearance and mannerisms and language. He even fell for his bestfriend, played by Kerbie Zamora. While Remington is suffering this, a notorious killer is on the loose targeting gays in the community.

Brilliante Mendoza honoured at his SM City Film Festival

Cebu is blessed to have the country’s world class filmmaker who takes art seriously and embedded it o his films that had taken the global centerstage.

SM City Cebu launched the Brilliante Mendoza Film Festival last August 3, 2011. After the cocktails, a short program was held at the cinema showcasing words of appreciation from SM Executives, Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama and Brilliante himself.

Pinoy movies invade Cannes

I for one have never been a great fan of Filipino movies except Jose Rizal and Muro-ami. I think Philippine movies who wishes to break out into international viewership have a whole lot to do about casting, acting, covering plot holes, or use state-of-the-art CG effects. On the other hand, we almost made it to the Oscars, didn’t we? But the only genre that we would fare is drama.
